With over five years of experience in the hair industry, Martin Larkin specializes in custom cutting, lived-in blondes, dimensional brunettes, and hair extensions. Passionate about the science behind healthy hair, Martin combines expert styling with education and personalized recommendations. His goal is to create beautiful, wearable results while helping each client better understand their hair and how to care for it between visits.
Before pursuing hairstyling full-time, Martin spent more than a decade building his customer service and leadership experience in fashion retail. He managed stores throughout Toronto, including in the city’s iconic Queen West neighbourhood, before making the move into the hair industry in 2021. However, salons had been part of Martin’s life long before his career began. Growing up with several hairstylists in his family gave him an early introduction to the craft and helped inspire his eventual career behind the chair.
After graduating from Marca College’s Hair Styling program, Martin expanded his skills as a self-taught barber and continued his professional development through advanced education, including training with DannyCo. Known for his attention to detail and highly personalized approach, Martin believes every client’s hair is unique and every service should reflect that. Whether creating seamless colour, a custom cut, extensions, or a healthier hair routine, his goal is for every guest to leave Sekt Studios feeling confident, informed, and looking their absolute best.
